Barely four (4)hours after the ministry of health refuted reports that Malawi has registered a coronavirus case in the capital city Lilongwe, the state president, Peter Mutharika has come out and confirmed the news.
Mutharika addressed the nation from six o’clock in the evening on Thursday confirming that indeed the countey has registered three coronavirus cases.
The president appealed to the citizenry to exercise caution to ensure the deadly disease did not spread further.
Meanwhile, shops and cars of some Indian nationals of Limbe in the city of Blantyre have been pelted with stones by some people, in reaction to the indian national who has brought the virus into the country. .
They angry mob is calling for an immediate repatriation of all Asians back to their country by tomorrow 6am.
Police has since contained the situation and there is calm, peace, law and order.
The three people are in Lilongwe and from same family.
A woman aged 61 went to India where she came in contact with a person who was positive (Covid19)
She came in Malawi under self quarantine and later on she was tested positive with other 2 family members.
