The Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (Csat) wants speedy conclusion of all cases relating to plunder of public funds, improper allocation of land and other forms of abuse.
Csat Executive Director Willy Kambwandira is proposing “December this year as an ideal cut off point, and in this regard says Csat will from next week launch a ‘wear red mask’ campaign in order to mobilise Malawians to demand accountability, justice and speed in prosecution and trial of all cases related to plunder of public funds”.
According to Kambwandira, the organisation is greatly disturbed by emerging revelations that about K 1.3 trillion of tax payers’ money was looted from the public coffers by the past administration.
Meanwhile, the Blantyre high court has adjourned to August 19 a bribery case involving tycoon businessman, Thom Mpinganjira.
