Almost a year since he visited the northern region of the country, President Peter Mutharika will be visiting some districts in the region where he will conduct the final whistle stop campaign meetings before the country goes to vote in next week’s presidential election.
According to thep presidential diary released by the state owned Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), president Arthur Peter Mutharika will go on a country wide tour beginning as follows;
“On Wednesday, 17th June, 2020, the President will depart Blantyre for Lilongwe and make a stopover at Ntcheu Boma at 12:00 O’clock and at 3 O’clock, the Malawi leader will address people at Biwi Triangle in the city, Lilongwe.
The statement from the Office of President and Cabinet further state that on Thursday, 18th June, His Excellency the President will at 11 O’clock address people at Mzimba Boma.
Later the same day at 2 O’clock the Malawi leader will be at Chitipa Boma and finally at 4 O’clock His Excellency the President will address people at Karonga Boma,” reads the diary.
A fortnight ago his running mate in the Fresh presidential election, Atupele Mulizi cancelled his rally in he leventh hour which was slated for Mzuzu Upper Stadium due to the reasons that were not disclosed which gave a hint that Mutharika will be visiting the region very soon.
