Government of Malawi has reversed its earlier stand of banning gatherings.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 and church leaders have agreed to maintain the gathering of 100 people.
This is in sharp contrast with new gazzetted rules which calls for a gathering of not more than 10 people.
On Thursday afternoon, a group of civil society organizations gave a President Lazarus Chakwera a 48 hour ultimatum to apologise to Malawians for not walking the talk on Covid 19 preventative measures.
A grouping, also demanded President Chakwera to withdraw the gazetted measures by government that according to them is only targeting poor Malawians.
Earlier this week, sex workers association of Malawi followed by a group of Pastors demanded government to reopen churches or else they will hold demos.
