Government pounce on Parastatal Boards

In a bid to make sure that public and private sector institutions are effectively performing to their expected standards government has dissolved boards of Directors for it’s Parastatal organisations;

This was likely as one of the recommendations some socioeconomic observers made as the only way of ensuring their vibrant and smooth economic transformation considering that some of them were stagnant in terms of progress due to political interferences.

According to the copy issued through state owned, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) the full list of the parastatals are as follows:

  1. Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC)
  2. Electricity Supply Commission of Malawi LTD (ESCOM)
  3. Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC)
  4. Airport Development Limited (ADL)
  5. Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA)
  6. Lilongwe Water Board (LWB)
  7. Electricity Generation Company Limited (EGENCO)
  8. Southern Region Water Board (SRWB)
  9. Malawi Institute of Management (MIM)
