President Peter Mutharika says holding the fresh presidential election in the country is a threat Considering the COVID 19 pandemic which he says is continuing to record alarming figures.

Speaking through the state broadcaster, MBC Mutharika cited other 46 countries across the world that have postponed elections.
The president also attacked the courts for the Nullification of the presidential election results which many stakeholders ndeclared not to have been free and fair.
“The Constitutional court’s nullification of the May 2019 presidential poll results was a ‘judicial d’etat’ the courts just wanted to take away my government.
” The court was wrong to nullify the election based on irregularities only. As they did not find any evidence of rigging.”
He further accuses the Malawi judiciary for declaring the former Malawi Electoral Commission, Jane Ansah as incompetent saying what the courts did pronouncing Ansah as incompetent in managing the election was ‘ridiculous.’
He then dares at the judiciary, saying Ansah is the most educated judge in the country, as she holds a PHD in law.
