Barely some few days after Malawians ushered into office a new leadership, several government institutions have already started unearthing some of the hurried issues which involved the plunder of public funds.
On Monday, the graft body, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) issued a file which has been forwarded to the new leadership for perusal and possibly provide guidance on how best to deal with such issues which are of moral turpitude in nature.
Theft of public money which occured in form of procurement of police ration has resufaced which by all means will be one of the cases that will draw Mutharika into a long legal battle and keep sweating profusely for some time.
And here below is a file which the ACB has issued and put across for guidance and public scrutiny.

Investigation Report (Extracts)
SUBJECT: Allegation of fraudulent transactions in Ration Packs contract between Malawi Police Service and Pioneer Investments
Ref No: CR/LL/200/2017
4.0: FINDINGS
4.1: In April 2017, Mr Innocent G. Bottoman and Zameer Karim defrauded Malawi Government a sum of MK466,000,000.00.
4.7: His Excellency Peter Mutharika benefitted a total amount of MK145,000,000.00 from the proceedings of Pioneer Investment fraud scheme from Malawi Government through DPP account at Standard Bank to which he is a sole signatory.
5.0: RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1: Mr. G. I. Bottoman and Zameer Karim should be prosecuted for stealing a total sum of MK466,000,000.00 from Malawi Government contrary to Section 271 as read with 278 of the Penal Code.
5.7: In the meantime, His Excellency Peter Mutharika should NOT be prosecuted in accordance with Section 91 (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi.
