The fired Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Southern Region, Kondwani Nankhumwa will still conduct his rally in Blantyre on Saturday.
While some quarters in DPP are doing all what it takes to do away with the most popular DPP official (Nankhumwa) from DPP his rally slated for Bangwe in Blantyre is not canceled.
News reaching this publication indicates that a team of lawyers has already finished the paperwork to challenge the firing of Nankhumwa and others in the High Court.
The informant further divulged to this reporter that talks aimed at uniting DPP and United Democratic Front to form one party are at an advanced level.
However, members who met to discuss the merger of the two former ruling parties observed that it will be difficult to succeed in building one party if Nankhumwa is not fired from the DPP.
If successful, the merged party is expected to have Atupele Muluzi as its president.
