The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) says it is optimistic that Malawi Entrepreneurship Development Fund (MEDEF), a loan which is being given to youths entrepreneurs will go a long way in boosting their living standards especially those who are struggling due to lack of financial stability.
DPP Treasure General who is also Deputy Minister for local Government Grezelder Jeffrey made the sentiment in Mzuzu City during an interaction meeting with DPP members from the northern Region where she also edged them to go and verify and find out if their names are appearing on the voters registration list ahead of the fresh Presidential elections on 2nd July 2020.
Jeffrey Said President Professor Peter Mutharika is a visionary Leader and his leadership skills are manifested through such developments.
“Government established MEDEF so that young people and women should benefit from this loan so they should not be worried because the loan is given in phases as i am talking some groups have already accessed it” Said Jeffrey
In a separate interview, DPP Regional Governor for the North Reverand Christopher Mzomera Ngwira said the Meeting was also organised to map the way forward as the country is heading for fresh Presidential polls.
“We had this meeting to enlighten each other as members of DPP at the same time to strengthen each other to vote for our Party.” Said Ngwira
The High Court nullufied the 21st May 2019 Presidential Results and ordered for a fresh election after Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and United Transformation Movement (UTM) challenged the results in court, alleging that the election was marred with irregularities.
