The Home Affairs and Internal Security Ministry officers in the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has promoted all it’s Junior officers with immediate effect.
A letter which our publication managed to source out, signed by the department’s Director General, Masauko Medi, has effected promotions to all constables and Sergeants in the department.
“The Director General congratulates all constables and Sergeants for being promoted from post of constable (MII) to Sergeants (Grade K) and from Sergeants (MI) to sub-inspector, (Grade J) respectively with effect from 12th May 2020,” reads the letter.
Immigration officers cried foul having seen colleagues in their ministry, (Prison Services) got promoted after staging an industrial action.
Rumour are also rife that officers in the Malawi police service will receive the message of a massive promotion galore flying high to all police camps through their signals departments.
But it is yet to be seen as to whether primary and secondary teachers in public teaching and learning institutions will be considered promotions just like these other civil Servants in security departments.
