One of the country’s renowned dancehall musician, Jay Jay Cee whose real name is James Juma Chitsonga has said music is greatly linked to education, hence need for both established, up and coming artist to concentrate on.
The award winning artist who rose to fame when he released a hit single titled ‘Iwe maliro’ said education would make musicians and all young artists, to find proper ways of marketing their songs as well as exposing them to the world.

“There is a great relationship between Music and education, firstly in terms of song writing, an artist needs some skills which can only be obtained at school, because an artist as well need things like sentence construction.
“Even to compose a good song it requires someone to attend to school because it imparts you to have general knowledge of how to link different things and come up with a song which carries a message to people,” he said.
The young artist, who is based in Blantyre, Jay Jay Cee added that every artist needs good marketing strategies and one can learn these at school hence there is need for education at all cost.
“Nowadays every youth in our societies and our nation at large wants to be a musician, they miss even classes over music. They don’t mind getting better education which is not good at all hence am it’s my plea to everyone to concentrate on education as well as it the only way which can help in taking our music to hit international waves.”
However, he pointed out that it is time for authorities to consider introducing music lesson as they will enable in nurturing music talents at a tender age.
“Its time for authorities to introduce music lessons as it will help in building the music industry in our country as it is with other countries,” he said.
Jay Jay Cee last year released some songs like Faka, a neba, and he has since disclosed that he will release at least a minimum of six songs.
“2021 I would like to drop more of visuals for my past songs, and I am planning of dropping a minimum of 6 fresh songs and I hope my fans will be happy with this,” said the award winning artist.
However, Jay Jay Cee has appealed to his followers and Malawians that they should continue observing precautionary measures to covid-19 like wearing of face masks.
